database. The sheer size and specialization of North American
producers is seen in Tyson Foods
of the United States, which
slaughtered more than 1. 9 billion broilers in 2010. On the other
end of the spectrum is the much smaller, but important in its market,
Glon Volailles of France, which produces only 50 million head but
also produces table eggs and beef.
