The small intestine is the first line of an animal’s defense against toxin producing pathogens.

that improved tight junction barrier health can contribute to the reduced endotoxin transport.
A recent University study shows that supplementing Natufermen will help improve tight junction
function in chicks, maintaining gut integrity. Natufermen helps to form an impermeable barrier
to pathogens in the lumen, increasing tight junctions, while allowing for efficient digestion and
absorption of nutrients. In this study, the chicks fed the diet containing Natufermen exhibited greater
ileal mucin RNA expression, increased colon trans-epithelial membrane resistance (TER) and lowered
colon endotoxin transport, compared to chicks consuming the control diet.
